The civil parish of Illogan lies in West Cornwall between the large towns of Camborne, Redruth and Pool and the dramatic grandeur of the North Cornish Coast.

Illogan is a Celtic personal name found in both Cornwall and Brittany, and was the name of a Celtic Saint who is thought to have helped to bring Christianity to the area and who gave his name to our village church.

The Parish has three wards, Illogan, Tehidy and Park Bottom and includes both urban and more rural districts. It also contains an area of the north Cornish coast that is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty and Tehidy Country Park. It is part of the Illogan North electoral area which it shares with PortreathVillage Noticeboard Parish and has approximately 4300 electors. At present the Council owns no land but has care and responsibility of a number of plots on lease or licence including Maningham Wood, The Platt and Parsonage Well and the newly formed path leading from Maningham Wood to the St Illogan Churchyard.
