Following the significant difficulties experienced during Storm Goretti, Illogan Parish Council have agreed that it would be prudent to develop a Community Emergency Plan. The aim of this plan will be to help our community prepare for, respond to, and recover more effectively from future emergency events, such as severe weather or infrastructure disruption.
To take this work forward, we are setting up a small working group to consider the key risks facing our area and to draft an appropriate and practical plan. Local knowledge and experience will be essential to this process, and we would very much welcome input from residents.
If you have suggestions, relevant experience, or would like to be involved in the group, please contact the Council Office by either popping into the office, emailing enquiries@illoganparishcouncil.gov.uk , or telephoning 01209 711433. The group is likely to meet in the evening, with the first meeting scheduled for the 21st March in the Illogan Parish Council Community Office, to make it as accessible as possible for those who wish to take part.
We hope this initiative will strengthen our community’s resilience and ensure we are better prepared for future events.
