I was born in the Wokingham maternity hospital in 1953 and spent the first 14 years of my life living near Reading, Berkshire. There I attended both Junior and secondary schools until my parents decided to move to Truro Cornwall in 1967.

After completing another year of school in the Truro Secondary Modern Boys School I left and began a career as an apprentice electrician for SWEB (South Western Electricity Board). Two years after I had successfully completed my apprenticeship and attained three City and Guilds and an ONC qualification I left SWEB and went to work underground as a miner at Mount Wellington mine in Bissoe near Truro.

That mine closed in I978 and I began a new career in sales and marketing as a salesman for various different companies. In 1990 I started my own business and I have operated my own businesses ever since. I still run two small companies of my own because I enjoy the challenge.

I moved to Illogan in 1997 and my wife and I still live in the same house now.

Now I have more free time on my hands I would like to give something back to Illogan so I applied to be a parish councilor in order to help out with village projects. Thankfully I was successful and now look forward to learning the ropes and getting involved in helping the Parish where I can. I have not served in any post like this before so please bear with me as there is a lot to learn.

I look forward to helping local people and way I can.
